Former Office Manager Pleads Guilty to Felony Theft Scheme

BALTIMORE, MD -- Attorney General Douglas F. Gansler announced today that Teresa Ann King, 50, of Baltimore, entered a plea of guilty to one count of felony theft scheme before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Charles G. Bernstein.

King was formerly employed as the office manager for Morrison Management, Inc. which owns two apartment buildings in Baltimore. Between 2003 and 2007 she had access to five separate bank accounts owned by her employer and used that access to steal more than $250,000. Sentencing is set for December 23, 2009.

Felony theft scheme is punishable by up to 15 years in jail and/or a $25,000 fine.

This case was investigated by the Attorney General's Criminal Division and the Maryland State Police.
