RP3Agency Produces Animated PSA “Be That Woman”

Animated PSA Launches "Be That Woman" Movement for Washington Area Women's Foundation

BETHESDA, Md., October 21, 2009 - "Be That Woman," an animated public service announcement (PSA) produced pro bono by RP3 Agency was launched online to coincide with the Washington Area Women's Foundation (WAWF) Annual Leadership Luncheon. The PSA is the initial element in a "Be That Woman" social media campaign that RP3 Agency will roll-out through the fall to galvanize women to unleash a wave of women's philanthropy on behalf of the WAWF.

The "Be That Woman" PSA illustrates the Women's Foundation's holistic approach by showing the importance of paying it forward by helping others. The PSA, which debuted at the Foundation's Annual Leadership Luncheon October 20, tells the story of one woman's journey from a position of weakness to one of strength in an elegantly simple animation style. RP3 Agency arranged the donation of production services by: Shurbert, Clean Cuts Music and Cerebral Lounge.

"As a woman-owned agency, we were pre-disposed to the cause," said Beth Johnson, president RP3 Agency. "We understood, as the WAWF did, that to make an impact we need to do more than get donations, or sign-up volunteers. We believe the ‘Be That Woman' campaign will do just that."

Johnson continued, "Jim Lansbury, our creative director felt that simple, stick figure animation would give each individual permission to "see" themselves as that woman who was most meaningful to them, while the device of drawing from pencil to pen would demonstrate her transformation from weakness to strength."

"We're so proud to be involved with the Washington Area Women's Foundation. Their mission of building stronger communities by investing in the power of women and girls couldn't be more worthwhile. Especially in times like these. Our agency culture encourages everyone to get involvement in a broad range of causes," she added.

WAWF and RP3 Agency hope that women will be inspired to support the movement in whatever way they can. And will start by sharing the video with friends, family and colleagues or by making a donation to the Washington Area Women's Foundation . And in the coming weeks, follow the movement's progress at bethatwoman.org as the campaign asks everyone to share their personal stories and honor the women who've had a positive impact in their lives.
