About Julie Rubin

Julie R. Rubin is a Principal of Astrachan Gunst Thomas, P.C., whose practice focuses on complex commercial litigation, counseling businesses on issues of employment and management, as well as protection of confidential information and intellectual property assets.

Julie is an adjunct professor at the University of Maryland School of Law where she teaches Trade Secrets Law. Julie has also been an adjunct professor of Entertainment and Sports Law and has guest lectured on issues surrounding women and the law. She is a monthly columnist for CityBizList.com on employment and business issues, and is a frequent lecturer on employment law and related business matters. Julie’s publications including EEOC Complaints: Keep Your Paring Knife in the Kitchen and Attorney Client Email: . or .. have also appeared in The Maryland Bar Journal.

Julie is an honors graduate of Mount Holyoke College (1995), the oldest women's college in the country. Julie is also an honors graduate of the University of Maryland School of Law (1998), where she served as an Articles Editor on The Business Lawyer and was awarded the Joseph Bernstein Prize for the most significant piece of student writing for publication. Julie also received the Corpus Juris Secundum award for scholastic achievement in contracts law and served as an Asper Fellow to the Honorable Marvin J. Garbis of the United States District Court for the District of Maryland.

As an active member of the Baltimore community, Julie is the President of The Bryn Mawr School Alumnae Association and serves as a Mentor for the Baltimore Girls’ Schools Leadership Coalition. Julie also serves on the Executive Committee for CollegeBound Foundation's Lawyers Campaign and was named one of Maryland’s 2006 “Legal Elite” by SmartCEO Magazine.
